Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems for rotary drill products.
  • Develop and implement system-level test strategies for product validation.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and procedures.
  • Manage lab-based testing and field trials to validate performance under real-world conditions.
  • Lead, mentor, and set priorities for a team of engineers.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for system-level issues.
  • Uphold Sandvik’s safety and quality standards, including IMS system compliance.
  • Collaborate with product design engineers, software developers, and project managers.
  • Introduce best practices such as test automation, simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement in integration processes and testing methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).
  • 8+ years of experience in product development, system integration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • At least 3+ years in a leadership role managing engineers or technical projects.
  • Solid understanding of integrating hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with industrial control systems and communication protocols (e.g., PLCs, CAN bus).
  • Familiarity with hydraulics and electrical systems in heavy equipment.
  • Proven ability to oversee multi-disciplinary system integration and develop effective test strategies.
  • Comfortable reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and software logic.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong project management abilities – adept at planning, organizing, and delivering integration and testing activities on time.
  • Effective leader with experience building and motivating engineering teams.
  • Strong communicator who can coordinate cross-functional efforts and clearly convey technical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Test Manager (ISTQB CTAL), or relevant Six Sigma/quality certifications are desirable.
  • Experience in the mining equipment sector or heavy mobile machinery is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with simulation/HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing setups.
  • Exposure to safety standards (ISO/IEC) for machinery.
  • Experience with field testing and commissioning of equipment is a plus.
