Qualcomm is looking for a Staff Engineer specializing in Power Engineering to join their team in Noida, India. This role involves defining, modeling, designing, and optimizing IP for high-performance, low-power products, requiring strong Python skills and experience with power analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Define, model, design (digital and/or analog), optimize, verify, validate, implement, and document IP (block/SoC) development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to determine product execution path.
  • Debug RTL or gate-level power anomalies and identify root-cause structures or scenarios.
  • Build automation scripts, data pipelines, and AI/ML-driven analysis flows for RTL power optimization using Python.

Requirements

  • 8-12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/relevant technical field, or a Master's degree.
  • Understanding of RTL power optimization fundamentals (switching activity, clock/enable efficiency, low-power design patterns).
  • Familiarity with RTL power analysis and optimization using tools such as PowerArtist, PTPX, PowerPro or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with low-power design techniques (clock gating, power gating, managing dynamic vs. leakage power tradeoffs).
  • Knowledge of Emulation Power flow and methodology.
  • Knowledge of backend flows such as logic synthesis and place-and-route, and their impact on post-layout power and timing.
  • Hands-on experience of debugging RTL or gate-level power anomalies.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills using a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, global team environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
