Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to building the next-generation data platform for the age of AI. This role involves developing cloud-native infrastructure for Azure Observability services, with a focus on full-stack development using technologies like React and C#.

Responsibilities

  • Drive design and implementation for cloud-native infrastructure used by Azure Observability services.
  • Own production-quality features end to end, including design, coding, validation, deployment, monitoring, and live-site support.
  • Partner with adjacent teams to align dependencies and deliver supportable solutions.
  • Participate in on-call and incident response, using learnings to improve automation and troubleshooting.
  • Embody Microsoft's culture and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.
  • Ability to apply AI-driven innovations to improve developer productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experiences.
  • Experience partnering across teams to deliver infrastructure capabilities with clear ownership and supportability.
  • Experience with React, JavaScript, Knockout, C# or similar programming languages.

Benefits

  • Typical base pay range across the U.S.: USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year.
  • Different range for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
