As a Software Development Manager for FBA Inventory Planning, you will lead a team in building and managing mission-critical systems for Amazon's Fulfillment by Amazon service. This role involves strategic and tactical oversight, focusing on optimal inventory management, reducing supply chain costs, and leveraging Amazon's technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical oversight to build features and functionality for FBA inventory management.
  • Create mechanisms to drive optimal seller behavior for FBA inventory management.
  • Reduce total supply chain costs and facilitate inventory proximity to customers.
  • Invent new ways to deliver value for sellers and their products.
  • Leverage the scale and innovation of technology from across the Amazon family, including AWS.
  • Operate with startup flexibility in product and technology direction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.
  • Experience in managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective, product software engineers.
