Volvo Group søger en Simulation Engineer med fokus på Gear Technology til deres 15-måneders Graduate Program, der starter i august 2027 i Göteborg, Sverige. Programmet kombinerer praktisk arbejde med uddannelsesaktiviteter og giver mulighed for international erfaring. Kandidaten skal have en mastergrad i ingeniørvidenskab, teoretisk viden om styrke og holdbarhed, FEA og systemsimulering, samt kendskab til programmeringssprog som Python eller Matlab.

Responsibilities

Design and evaluate gear concepts for conventional transmissions and electrified power units.
Optimize gear and spline designs for performance and durability.
Perform advanced simulations and correlate results with physical tests.
Maintain close contact with prototype manufacturing and serial production.
Present and explain status, challenges, and results to stakeholders and senior management.
Document design solutions, simulation results, and requirements.
Contribute to method and tool development, virtual and physical verification.

Requirements

Master of Science (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in Applied Mechanics or equivalent, such as Civil engineering (Structural Engineering and Building Technology) or Engineering Physics.
At least theoretical knowledge of strength and durability, FEA and system simulation.
Genuine technical interest, especially in mechanical systems.
Ability to explain and present findings and conclusions in a structured manner.
Programming competence in Python or Matlab.
Completed a master’s degree prior to the start of the program but not more than 3 years ago.
Not more than three years' full-time relevant working experience in the field prior to starting, excluding part-time work during studies.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Willing to travel and participate in international short-term assignments.

Desired Qualifications

Beneficial if you have some practical experience, for example from projects, internships, work experience or thesis work.
Eager to learn more about mechanical systems.
Transmission knowledge.
Experience in developing design solutions based on business requirements.
Curiosity about how business operations, strategy, and financial performance are linked.
