Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Servicedesk to join our dynamic data team in Khandūd, Badakhshan, Afghanistan. This part-time, on-site role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in database management, optimization, and security. As a Servicedesk, you will work closely with experienced professionals, contributing to database migrations, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues. This is an ideal position for individuals passionate about data and eager to develop a career in database administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in database migrations and upgrades.
• Monitor database system performance and identify potential issues.
• Troubleshoot database-related problems and implement solutions.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of database documentation.
• Participate in data modeling and database design activities.
• Support backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to the development and optimization of ETL processes.
• Assist in the management of cloud-based database solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an Undergraduate, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies

• Basic understanding of database concepts and principles.
• Familiarity with SQL and database query languages.
• Knowledge of database design and data modeling techniques.
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
• Understanding of performance tuning principles.
• Exposure to ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with cloud database platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
