As a Separation Mechanic in Greenwood, Indiana, you will be responsible for the repair and reconditioning of machinery in a Service Centre. This role involves disassembling, inspecting, repairing, measuring, and assembling products to meet specification standards. You will work with blueprints, perform equipment testing and balancing, and diagnose mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment receipt, uncrating, cleaning, stripping, and teardown of units.
  • Inspect, repair, service, test, and package products following company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Utilize drawings, parts lists, blueprints, charts, tables, and graphs to estimate repair costs, time, and materials.
  • Set up and operate test stands and related equipment, including balancing rotating equipment.
  • Record written test results on appropriate test documents.
  • Follow quality plans to repair products and diagnose/correct mechanical functions.
  • Move material within the shop and communicate supply, tool, and repair part needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform housekeeping duties.
  • Paint, pack, crate, and document shipment of units, parts, and materials.
  • Potentially perform field service work occasionally.

Requirements

  • High School degree or Equivalent.
  • Typically 3 years of manual repair/workshop/manufacturing environment experience.
  • Experience operating forklift trucks, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complicated blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to use micrometers and gauges in both English and Metric measures.
  • Demonstrated good mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of welding.
  • Basic computer knowledge (clocking in and out, scanning bar codes).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with vibration analyzing/balancing equipment is a plus.
