Responsibilities
- Participate in setting up the overall goal and roadmap for the coming years for this product.
- Provide technical guidance for the team of ~40 engineers working on YouTube Create App in Bengaluru.
- Provide technical leadership and establish and advocate for the best engineering practices across teams at YouTube.
- Provide technical mentorship and support the TLMs and TLs on the team with technical decisions.
- Co-own delivery of OKR and roadmap with the TLMs.
- Drive cross-organizational collaboration and ensure the strategy, direction, and decisions of multiple work streams are integrated, aligned, and positioned to support differentiation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
