Responsibilities

  • Improve and enhance Non-Linear solution procedure, Non-linear transient dynamics, and contact mechanics algorithms.
  • Perform R&D in GPU acceleration for nonlinear finite element analysis procedure including contact modeling.
  • Work on performance improvement and memory reduction under HPC environments.
  • Design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain software components and systems.
  • Contribute to the full software stack, including API design, database implementation, and parallel programming.
  • Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support.
  • Investigate and solve problems discovered by QA or product support.
  • Participate in planning, architecture, and research.
  • Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the US.

Requirements

  • PhD or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and one (1) year of experience in a related position.
  • Alternatively, Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
  • Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in a related position.
  • Experience with contact mechanics, transient dynamics, and finite element coding experience.
  • Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  • Knowledge and commercial experience with object-oriented design, scripting languages, data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with Python and C/C++, and Fortran.
