Responsibilities
- Act as a design authority for an engineering discipline.
- Complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects.
- Ensure assignments comply with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies.
- Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Coach project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs to engineering documentation.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate engineering teams (in-house and outsourced) on projects.
- Apply design thinking or design for excellence concepts, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for conventional projects.
- Execute assignments using established solutions and act as a design authority.
- Provide technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
- Assist in creating proposals for projects and support contract managers in issuing claims.
- Create work plans and cost estimates.
- Evaluate risks and opportunities and strategize mitigation.
- Interact with customers, contractors, and suppliers.
- Oversee the creation of subcontracts and manage subcontractors.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of design, engineering, testing, commissioning, and consulting experience of Control and Safety Systems in oil & gas production / refining / petrochemical / pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of the Safety Lifecycle and participation in functional safety assessments.
- Working knowledge of IEC61508 and IEC61511.
- Proficiency in Safety System design, application programming, hardware design, and HMI graphics development.
- Experience in safety system hardware inspection, FAT, SAT, loop checks, start-up and commissioning.
- Good communication & leadership capabilities.
- Strong team-building skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites.
