Microsoft is looking for a Senior Product Designer to craft the next generation of digital experiences. The role involves designing intuitive and beautiful interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to design systems, with a focus on user-centric and data-informed design. The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days/week in-office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with designers, research, product, and engineering teams to define and create intuitive and beautiful customer experiences.
  • Conceptualize and design original ideas that simplify complex design issues, demonstrating both conceptual thinking and craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in an agile environment to ship high-quality experiences.
  • Coordinate testing efforts with user researchers, interpret results, and incorporate them into designs.
  • Participate in foundational research and leverage/build upon existing design systems and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the broader Design team's creative processes, team building, and cultural values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years of experience OR Master's Degree in a related field AND 6+ years of experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong interaction + visual design and prototyping skills.
  • Strong command of all aspects of interaction/UX design, from information architecture to systems and workflows to micro-interactions.
  • Proven track record of solving complex design problems and driving them across multidisciplinary groups (engineering, product management, research, marketing).
  • User-centric approach to design, with the ability to apply research insights and experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Outstanding storytelling ability with strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Desired Qualifications

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction + visual design and prototyping skills.
  • Strong command of all aspects and levels of interaction/UX design from information architecture to systems and workflows to micro-interactions.
  • A proven track record of creatively solving hard problems, driving complex design issues across multidisciplinary groups such as engineering, product management, research and marketing; and shipping relevant experiences within deadlines.
  • User-centric approach to design and an understanding of how to apply research insights into design and development of product experiences.
  • Experience in data driven decision-making.
  • Outstanding storytelling ability to generate empathy, using written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
