Atlas Copco Group is seeking a Senior Backend .NET Developer to join their internal software development team in Antwerp, Belgium. This hybrid role focuses on developing and redesigning aftermarket applications, including technical support, warranty processing, and planning systems. Responsibilities

  • Technical application ownership and development within the Aftermarket domain.
  • Full redesign of existing applications and creation of new applications.
  • Build the back-end systems linking documentation, bills of material, and product definitions to serialized equipment.
  • Develop backend landscape including warranty automation, order evaluation, and engineering change bulletins.
  • Focus on domain models, APIs, events, and data shaping for future-proofing applications.
  • Collaborate in an agile team with developers, architects, and a product owner on design decisions.
  • Build on C# and .NET (8 or later) on Azure, utilizing Function Apps, App Services, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, SQL, and graph stores.
  • Implement services using secure practices like private endpoints, managed identity, RBAC, and Azure DevOps pipelines with infrastructure as code.

Requirements

  • Recent, hands-on experience building production-grade C#/.NET (8 or later) applications where you own a service end-to-end.
  • Practical experience with several Azure services: Function Apps, App Services, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Key Vault, API Management, Application Insights.
  • Experience in REST API design and implementation, focusing on well-structured, versioned APIs.
  • Proficiency in SQL databases: data modeling, query performance, and integrating relational data into cloud applications.
  • Experience with testing as part of development, including unit and integration testing.
  • Experience migrating .NET Framework systems to modern .NET and retiring replaced systems.
  • Ability to think in trade-offs and understand root causes of failures.
  • Comfort working in an agile team and confidence to challenge specifications.
  • Judicious use of AI tooling for development tasks.

Desired Qualifications

  • Apache Kafka: consuming event streams and managing external data.
  • Graph databases: Neo4j or equivalent, and modeling relationships for graph databases.
  • Secure-by-default cloud development: managed identity, private endpoints, RBAC, and secret management.
  • Observability: structured logging, tracing, alerting.
  • Domain-driven design: bounded contexts and aggregates.
  • Microservice architecture: understanding service boundaries, inter-service contracts, and operational costs.
  • Event-driven and message-based architecture: practical experience with queues, topics, event streams, and their challenges.
  • CI/CD with Azure DevOps: YAML pipelines, release management, and infrastructure as code (Bicep, Terraform or ARM).
