This role is for a Senior Hardware Test Engineer at Qualcomm in San Diego, California. The position involves planning and performing test solutions, debugging, validation, and qualification of new product functionality for System-in-Package (SIP) products using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and perform moderately-defined responsibility for test solutions.
  • Bring up, debug, validation and qualification of new product functionality.
  • Deliver test hardware and develop test programs to validate system-in-package (SIP) products which integrates system-on-chip (SOC) and companion chips using an ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) platforms.
  • Perform hardware/software test, characterization, device performance over process and operating conditions.
  • Release cost effective production test solutions into the high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Evaluate, characterize and develop the manufacturing solution for leading-edge products in the most advanced processes using Design for test (DFT) and structural tests techniques.
  • Interface with various cross functional teams (RF, Analog and Digital IC designers, Software, System Engineering, and Customer Engineering) to drive and incorporate the latest test solutions in the production program to improve the yield, test time, quality.
  • Act as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field.
  • Experience with ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) platforms.
  • Proficiency in Design for test (DFT) and structural tests techniques.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with SIP products that integrate SOC and companion chips.
  • Experience in device performance over process and operating conditions.
  • Familiarity with RF, Analog and Digital IC design, Software, System Engineering, and Customer Engineering teams.
  • Ability to improve yield, test time, and quality.
