In short
Spotify is looking for a Senior Digital Learning Experience Designer to join their Learning & Inclusion team. The role involves leading the end-to-end design of engaging, inclusive digital learning experiences, partnering with subject-matter experts, and leveraging learning science principles. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of instructional design experience and a strong portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of learning experiences, from needs analysis and curriculum architecture through development, launch, and evaluation.
- Partner with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to identify performance needs and turn them into clear learning objectives and practical solutions.
- Design learning journeys across live, digital, blended, and self-directed formats using evidence-based learning principles.
- Create engaging learning materials, including eLearning, facilitator guides, participant resources, job aids, presentations, and micro-learning experiences.
- Use visual design and storytelling to make complex ideas clear, memorable, and engaging while creating experiences that feel unmistakably Spotify.
- Build interactive digital learning experiences using AI-assisted workflows and authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline or Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Design inclusive learning experiences that reflect different perspectives, reduce barriers to participation, and support a culture of belonging.
- Pilot and iterate on learning experiences using learner feedback, stakeholder input, and performance data.
- Define meaningful measures of success and evaluate learning effectiveness, knowledge transfer, learner experience, and behavior change.
- Manage multiple learning projects from initial scoping through delivery while creating clarity around priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Explore emerging approaches in learning design, including AI-assisted authoring and adaptive learning, and apply them where they can meaningfully improve the learner experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional instructional design experience and a portfolio demonstrating thoughtful work across multiple learning formats.
- Apply learning science principles such as cognitive load, retrieval practice, spaced learning, and adult learning theory to practical design decisions.
- Ability to uncover learning and performance needs, translate them into measurable objectives, and design learning journeys that build knowledge and skills over time.
- Create meaningful practice through scenarios, simulations, assessments, and other interactive experiences rather than relying on passive content.
- Strong visual and UX design judgment and understanding how typography, hierarchy, layout, and visual storytelling can make learning clearer and easier to navigate.
- Experience with rapid authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Lectora, or similar platforms, along with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent.
- Ability to create clear storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, and supporting materials that help others confidently deliver consistent learning experiences.
- Use learner feedback and data to evaluate effectiveness, iterate on your work, and connect learning experiences to meaningful outcomes.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with subject-matter experts, leaders, and cross-functional partners.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities, and taking ownership from an early idea through a polished learning experience.
- Experience in areas such as inclusive learning design, leadership development, learning technology, short-form learning video or animation, LMS/LXP platforms, or SCORM/xAPI.
- A degree in instructional design, learning sciences, education, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
