ABB is seeking a Senior Designer to create and modify standard equipment designs. Responsibilities include generating drawings, performing detailed mechanical design, and supporting production. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of experience in engineering and technical design, and proficiency in CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction.
  • Design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contract specifications.
  • Contribute to design reviews and design verification.
  • Work with the project management department to clarify and define order information.
  • Make product outline drawing, connection drawing and other customer drawings and technical documentation for generators, datacenters, turbines, engines, etc.
  • Do detailed mechanical design of generator components, provide all kinds of required drawings and documents.
  • Use engineering specific design software to generate and maintain bill of materials.
  • Deal with engineering change and other accidental incidents, support the production process in time.
  • Provide technical support to Production, Purchasing, Sourcing and Service.
  • Communicate with R&D colleagues to get support and to work out solutions for uncertain technical issues.
  • Provide training regarding mechanical design for the whole team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering and technical design.
  • Proficient in motor/generator design, manufacturing process, and technical optimization.
  • Proficient in using engineering design software (e.g., CAD).
  • Familiar with motor design, manufacturing process, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong cross-departmental collaboration and coordination capabilities.
  • Fluent in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing), able to draft and review English technical documents.
  • Rigorous work attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to promote project implementation efficiently.
