Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is looking for a Senior Data Engineer & Data Science Engineer to join the Cloud Hardware Analytics & Tools (CHAT) Team. This role involves designing and developing data solutions for AI and analytical platforms, with a focus on improving Microsoft Azure quality and efficiency. The position offers a hybrid work model and is a full-time, individual contributor role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for custom and existing AI solutions that will provide business impact across our division.
  • Design and develop data solutions to enable complex AI and analytical solutions.
  • Understand and stay connected to industry AI solutions.
  • Work in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Access to information controlled for export under export control regulations requires verification of citizenship or residency status.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years industry experience.
  • 1+ years of hands on experience working with AI solutions in the industry.

Benefits

  • Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
  • For San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
