The Senior Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud-based platform solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role involves managing middleware, runtime environments, and databases in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OCI) and acting as a technical liaison to resolve complex issues. Key responsibilities include 24x7 operational support, troubleshooting, monitoring, incident management, deployment, security, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24x7 (or shift-based) support for production PaaS environments to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical problems related to cloud services, application deployment, and integrations.
  • Actively monitor PaaS platforms (using tools like Splunk, Datadog) to identify issues, analyze metrics, and optimize performance.
  • Manage high-priority incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventative measures.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to deploy application updates.
  • Ensure platform security, including IAM, encryption, patching, and compliance with standards (e.g., ISO, HIPAA).
  • Create and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and technical procedures to improve team efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3-10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud support (IaaS/PaaS) or DevOps.
  • Proficiency in one or more major cloud providers: AWS (Beanstalk, RDS), Azure (Web Apps, SQL), or Oracle Cloud (OIC, VBCS).
  • Strong knowledge of Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS).
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
