We are seeking a Senior Accountant in Houston, TX, to manage month-end close activities, lead inventory and cost accounting, and partner with operations to improve processes. This hybrid role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 3 years of accounting experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reviews, payroll reporting, lease accounting, and communication of closing status.
- Own key accounting processes related to intercompany transactions, inventory reporting, and financial controls.
- Lead inventory and cost accounting activities, including reconciliations, costing analysis, physical and cycle counts, reporting, and oversight of WIP, POC, inventory turns, and reserves.
- Partner with operations to develop and improve inventory processes, mitigate risk, optimize stock levels, analyze variances, and support efficient inventory management.
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes and strengthen financial controls.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or financial control.
- Solid understanding of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable working with ERP and reporting tools.
- Ability to use data to generate clear financial insights.
- Clear communication skills, able to explain financial topics to non-specialists.
- Organized, accurate, and curious to improve processes and learn new tools and methods.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
