This role is responsible for the effective operations of Sandvik rock tool contract sites within a designated region, focusing on building strong customer relationships and effective contract teams to meet financial targets and service levels. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering or Business, a minimum of 7 years of experience in mining and equipment maintenance, and strong leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective operations of Sandvik rock tool contract sites.
- Develop strong customer relationships at a senior level.
- Build effective contract teams to meet financial targets and service levels.
- Ensure adherence to Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety systems and policies.
- Ensure profitable control of each contract site and achieve budgeted revenue.
- Work with Product Support Managers on technical, product development, and warranty issues.
- Ensure all KPIs for the contract are met.
- Manage monthly stock forecasts and re-order points.
- Establish and develop relationships within the Sandvik business.
- Mentor and develop personnel within the Rock Tools Contract business.
- Achieve contract budgeted margins and GP% targets.
- Ensure correct site invoicing and timely payment terms are met.
- Ensure customers receive the highest level of service and responsiveness.
- Ensure timely and professional product delivery meeting customer needs for quality and value.
- Assist in appropriate product selection and review rock tool product usage data.
- Identify and develop training requirements at each site.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or Business or Project Management
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in mining and related equipment maintenance / engineering
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Sandvik products
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in contract management / project management
- Minimum 4 years maintenance management practices / systems
- Minimum 4 years commercial contract management practices and business experience
- Computer literate with proven computer skills
- Strong technical background across engineering disciplines
- Fitness for underground and surface mines (Silicosis Certification)
- EIZ Membership
- Valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Rotary and DTH Drilling will be strongly preferred
