Responsibilities
- Lead Amazon FC WHS operations across multiple sites in South India.
- Build a world-class WHS organization and a strong WHS culture.
- Lead a team of safety managers and partner with operations teams.
- Execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk using lean principles and kaizens.
- Identify best practices and incorporate them into company safety policies.
- Communicate safety team expectations and provide feedback to ensure execution of core competencies.
- Measure and communicate site performance against safety policy requirements.
- Ensure site leadership is trained and knowledgeable of their policy responsibilities.
- Provide regular safety information to leadership.
- Seek input from associates, contracted workforce, and leaders on safety improvement opportunities.
- Understand and apply local/regional regulations and company policy, including Motor Vehicle and Transport Safety.
- Inform leadership about required safety concern resolutions.
- Lead proactive hazard identification (road, vehicle, loading/unloading, yard management) and track resolution.
- Ensure timely and thorough response to uncontrolled risks.
- Plan and execute peer audits for safety policy compliance.
- Analyze incident data to identify trends and justify resource allocation.
- Escalate risks presenting imminent danger or where solutions are insufficient or delayed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience leading multiple direct reports or multiple sites.
