We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) with 2+ years of experience in automation and manual testing, specifically UI and API testing using Selenium and SOAPUI. This role involves extending automation frameworks, creating test tools, and ensuring software quality with secure, maintainable code. You will contribute to team discussions, test plans, and bug resolution, all while advocating for the customer.
Responsibilities
- Validate and verify software using technology.
- Extend and effectively apply existing automation frameworks.
- Create or improve existing test tools.
- Turn defined designs into code and deliver on schedule.
- Write secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects.
- Participate in team design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
- Provide high-quality input to test plans and test cases.
- Learn business context and technologies behind the team’s software.
- Refine solutions to meet team needs and project goals.
- Assume responsibility for the state of code inherited, produced, and tested.
- Get designs, code, and test plans reviewed.
- Test code thoroughly.
- Classify, store, and handle data in accordance with Amazon policies.
- Track risks and mitigate/escalate them in a timely manner.
- Understand maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies of team’s software.
- Prevent bugs from causing customer pain.
- Document software clearly.
- Troubleshoot, research root causes of problems, and resolve defects.
- Take ownership of problems and propose solutions.
- Participate in the interview process and help train/mentor SDE-T interns.
Requirements
- 2+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in API & Mobile testing
- Experience designing and planning test conditions, test scripts, and test data sets to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage and control
