Autoliv is looking for a Prototyping Engineer to join their team in Querétaro, Mexico. This role involves supporting manufacturing processes, troubleshooting issues on the shop floor, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in process or production areas are required.
Responsibilities
- Support evaluation and analysis of manufacturing processes in cutting, sewing, and module assembly areas.
- Assist in troubleshooting product and process issues on the shop floor with guidance from senior engineers.
- Support development of process sheets and manufacturing documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and waste reduction.
- Provide support during site audits involving prototype activities.
- Perform Jidoka (stop and notify) when necessary; safety and quality issues must be escalated immediately.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related field)
- Advanced English
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in process or production areas.
- Interpretation of technical drawings (GD&T preferred).
- Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, Ishikawa).
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to manufacturing systems (PLM, L2L) is a plus.
