Microsoft seeks a Datacenter Engineering Design Manager to oversee engineering scope, schedule, and budget for datacenter projects, particularly in the North-East Asia and APAC regions. This role involves managing internal and external resources for the delivery of critical datacenter infrastructure, from site selection through to operational handover.
Responsibilities
- Manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit engineering/design projects.
- Support network growth and upgrade projects across the APAC Region, including investigation, scoping, feasibility studies, and implementation management.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, and designers to deliver projects aligned with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with on-site operations teams for feasibility and gap analysis.
- Engage with key Microsoft stakeholder groups and external vendors specializing in datacenter architecture and engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field (e.g., Project/Programme Management).
- Technical understanding of mission-critical environments on a multidisciplinary level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading teams of architects and engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes for large data center environments.
- Experience with design & construction procurement and contracts.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering, equipment, and/or construction for mission-critical or high-tech industry.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a project or team manager.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
