Responsibilities
- Define product strategy and roadmap priorities for OptoCompiler, Lumerical, and related photonic design and simulation capabilities.
- Translate customer needs, field team input, and R&D insights into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs.
- Engage directly with customers and prospects to understand their design workflows, adoption blockers, and emerging use cases.
- Collaborate with R&D, applications engineering, sales, and marketing to align on product development and market positioning.
- Drive cross-functional roadmap alignment, balancing customer impact, technical risk, competitive positioning, and business value.
- Support product launches and field enablement through clear messaging, technical collateral, and training.
- Monitor competitive dynamics and industry trends in photonics and photonic design automation to identify new opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, optics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of product management experience in photonics, optics, simulation software, or closely related technical domains (or 3+ years with an advanced degree).
- Deep understanding of photonic design workflows and simulation methods (e.g., FDTD, EME).
- Direct experience with products like OptoCompiler, Lumerical, or adjacent photonic design and simulation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, field teams, and commercial stakeholders.
- Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to present roadmaps, trade-offs, and business cases clearly.
- Track record of influencing roadmap decisions through customer insight, competitive analysis, and structured thinking.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in EDA, photonic design automation, optical simulation, or adjacent engineering software markets is a strong plus.
