As a Product Care Engineer in Juarez, Mexico, you will provide engineering expertise for new product introductions, cost reduction, and design changes in a manufacturing environment. This role supports design engineering, agency compliance, and ensures product reliability and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend methods, materials, and layouts for continuous improvement and innovative projects.
  • Support cost reduction, product quality improvement, purchasing, and new product development efforts.
  • Conduct engineering design reviews and evaluate/approve drawings, routings, and specifications.
  • Work with manufacturing and quality management for problem-solving and buy-in of new processes.
  • Ensure seamless implementation of design changes without unanticipated downtime.
  • Ensure all platforms meet or exceed energy requirements based on Department of Energy regulations.
  • Apply requirements related to EMS, ISO9001/14001/45001/50001, Green Spirit, and Zero Waste Landfill.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
  • Knowledge of CATIA or CAD.
  • Technical skills in manufacturing processes, methods, production equipment, and tooling specification.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including organization, multi-priority management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.
  • 70% English written and spoken proficiency.
  • Experience with process and equipment transference.
  • Ability to work with suppliers.
  • Ability to travel.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in design engineering in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Refrigeration appliance manufacturing or commercial HVAC manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Experience providing leadership across functional departmental boundaries.
  • Significant experience in cross-functional manufacturing processes and understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and complex issues to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to ensure product is built to specification and support design changes for quality and production efficiency.
  • Track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
  • History of successful leadership skills and development of high-performance work teams.
  • 3+ years of design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (preferable).
  • Refrigeration experience is a definite plus.
  • Excellent AS 400 knowledge and handling.
  • Excellent leadership to organize and accomplish all tasks.
