The Procurement Project Specialist will represent Purchasing on project teams, owning project deliverables and ensuring schedules are met. This role involves participating in project checkpoints, tracking progress with data-driven tools, and reporting status to leadership. The specialist will also work with Category Management on RFQs, negotiations, and supplier awards, contributing to Make vs Buy analysis and Value Based Sourcing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Represent Purchasing on project teams and own all related project deliverables.
- Attend project review meetings and communicate relevant information within Purchasing.
- Monitor and take action to ensure project schedule is met.
- Participate and prepare for project checkpoints, ensuring all deliverables are achieved on time.
- Track project progress, sourcing status, and other relevant information through a data-driven sourcing tool.
- Report Purchasing progress to the project team and Purchasing Leadership.
- Involve internal stakeholders (R&D, SD, Q, Design,…) at the early stage on VBS activities, aiming to create value through effective innovation with strategic suppliers.
- Facilitate teamwork and ensure a coordinated VBS approach cross categories.
- Work with the Category Management team to understand and deploy category strategy within projects.
- Support and coordinate RFQ’s, negotiations, supplier business awards, and sourcing board preparations.
- Participate in Make vs Buy analysis to optimize product and operation costs.
- Support and coordinate supplier tooling quoting and ordering.
- Fulfill project milestone deliverables, including checkpoint deliverables and opening purchasing orders.
- Support and coordinate cost modeling and estimating.
- Support and coordinate Value Based Sourcing, including Early Supply Involvement and Commodity Workshops.
- Act as an escalation point for cross-function team interactions with suppliers.
- Support and coordinate supplier capacity and utilization reviews.
- Facilitate supplier-led innovation and coordinate with key internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering and/or with specialties in project management.
- 5+ years of experience in relevant purchasing or project management roles.
- Ability to execute strategic initiatives that drive performance.
- Experience leading complex projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse individuals in cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Cost Modeling, Data Mining, and advanced Excel skills with the ability to generate effective reports that manage large data sets.

- Demonstrated history of driving for higher business performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability of setting priorities, meeting deadlines with strong initiative and decision making, problem solving and analytical skills, with attention to details and accuracy.

- Fluent in English.
