The Press Line Operator – Level 5 is a senior-level production role responsible for operating, monitoring, and optimizing Press Line manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role serves as a subject matter expert, provides guidance to lower-level operators, leads advanced troubleshooting, and supports continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated Press Line equipment at advanced proficiency levels.
  • Perform advanced machine setup, changeovers, and calibrations to meet production schedules and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues, coordinating with maintenance.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts, ensuring products meet all specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Press Line Operators Levels 1–4 on procedures, safety, and best practices.
  • Review production documentation and ensure accurate completion of logs, batch records, and inspection reports.
  • Enforce safety policies and participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supervision teams on new products, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Serve as acting lead or backup supervisor when assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with significant experience operating Press Line or similar production equipment.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment and process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills (production systems, data entry, email).
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
  • Forklift or industrial equipment certification.
