Responsibilities
- Developing and evaluating optical concepts and system solutions.
- Translating technical needs into optical requirements and specifications.
- Performing optical modelling, simulation, and analysis.
- Designing and developing lens, imaging, or illumination solutions.
- Building and evaluating prototypes.
- Planning and performing optical tests and measurements.
- Analysing test results and improving optical performance.
- Supporting verification and validation activities.
- Working closely with colleagues in mechanics, electronics, software, and systems engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant technical field.
- At least one year of professional experience within optical engineering, development, design, or testing.
- Strong technical interest and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and turn them into practical engineering solutions.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical specialists and other stakeholders.
- Ability to take responsibility for own tasks and drive work forward.
- Professional proficiency in English.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in optical modelling and simulation using tools such as Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, or LightTools.
- Experience in engineering and analysis using MATLAB, Python, or COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Experience in optomechanical development using SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.
- Experience in optical measurement and characterization, including interferometry, MTF analysis, beam profiling, or spectrometry.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments.
