Responsibilities

  • Developing and evaluating optical concepts and system solutions.
  • Translating technical needs into optical requirements and specifications.
  • Performing optical modelling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Designing and developing lens, imaging, or illumination solutions.
  • Building and evaluating prototypes.
  • Planning and performing optical tests and measurements.
  • Analysing test results and improving optical performance.
  • Supporting verification and validation activities.
  • Working closely with colleagues in mechanics, electronics, software, and systems engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant technical field.
  • At least one year of professional experience within optical engineering, development, design, or testing.
  • Strong technical interest and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and turn them into practical engineering solutions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical specialists and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to take responsibility for own tasks and drive work forward.
  • Professional proficiency in English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in optical modelling and simulation using tools such as Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, or LightTools.
  • Experience in engineering and analysis using MATLAB, Python, or COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Experience in optomechanical development using SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo.
  • Experience in optical measurement and characterization, including interferometry, MTF analysis, beam profiling, or spectrometry.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments.
