This Master Thesis focuses on optimizing the energy efficiency of AI-generated code. You will investigate integrating coding agents with energy analysis tools to create an energy-aware development workflow, resulting in a prototype and experimental evaluation.

Responsibilities

Investigate how coding agents can be integrated with energy analysis, profiling, etc. tools in its pipeline.
Design, implement, and evaluate an energy-aware GenAI-assisted software-development workflow.
Develop a methodology for evaluating the greenness of GenAI-generated applications.
Design an architecture for integrating energy feedback with coding agents.
Develop techniques for whole-application optimization.
Create a benchmark and experimental results.
Provide recommendations for energy-aware agentic software development.

Requirements

Background in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Good programming skills in Python or another modern programming language.
Familiarity with Linux-based development environments and command-line tools.
Interest and experience in generative AI, large language models, and AI-assisted software development.
Ability to conduct technical literature reviews, design experiments, analyze results, and document findings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively in an international working environment.
Good written and spoken English.
