We are seeking a Lead Test Engineer in Hyderabad to validate next-generation automation controller products and IO modules. Responsibilities include developing test strategies, designing test systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5-8 years of experience in industrial automation, including knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols.
Responsibilities
- Validate next generation Automation Controller product lines and IO modules using industrial automation control system domain knowledge.
- Drive productivity improvements and implement options for reducing test coverage without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with Product Owner to derive requirements for validation and verification plan.
- Break down problems and estimate time for test development tasks.
- Be involved in all phases of system test development from product definition to production release.
- Develop Test Strategy and derive Test Requirements from Product & System specifications.
- Design optimal Test Systems and Automated Test Fixtures for ensuring adequate Test coverage.
- Utilize knowledge in PLC programming languages (Ladder, FBD, SFC) and scripting for system level tests.
- Make technical presentations on architecture, design, and technical risks.
- Apply knowledge of product development lifecycle and experience in waterfall & agile projects.
- Interface with technical architects on complex technical issues using communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience with domain knowledge in Industrial automation and related products like Programmable controllers - PLCs, DCS, I/O modules.
- Experience with Industrial Communication protocols like MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, ETHERCAT, IEC61850 Client and Server, IEC104 Client/Server, DNP3 Master/Slave, HMI/SCADA etc.
- Programming skills using scripting languages like Python.
- Experience in test automation for Industrial control system and IO modules.
- Basic experience with programming language like C#, C++ used for Test Automation purpose.
Desired Qualifications
- Industrial Automation Knowledge and exposure in using Controller programming/HMI software is an added advantage.
