As an Integration Platform Lead Developer in Cork, Ireland, you will drive the technical direction and delivery of enterprise integration modernization using Boomi and Kafka on AWS. This senior role requires deep hands-on expertise to translate business needs into secure, resilient architectures, establish engineering standards, and influence enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Set Boomi and Kafka technical direction across multiple large projects, aligning architecture with business needs.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy complex API-based, application-to-application, file-based, B2B, and event-driven integrations.
  • Establish reusable Boomi components, mappings, error-handling patterns, and runtime engineering standards.
  • Lead Kafka engineering on Amazon MSK, covering topic strategy, producer/consumer behavior, schema evolution, and capacity planning.
  • Define engineering quality gates and automation for testing, performance validation, deployment, and operational readiness.
  • Lead technical delivery across projects, coordinating resources, reviewing designs, mentoring engineers, and managing priorities.
  • Define and review service KPIs, SLA/SLO performance, observability, and recovery procedures.
  • Lead complex Tier-3 troubleshooting and drive corrective actions.
  • Shape modernization roadmaps through capacity forecasts, cost-of-ownership analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Develop prototype environments, evaluate alternatives, and recommend investments to leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT-related work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 9+ years without.
  • Deep hands-on Boomi expertise in solution architecture, process design, connectors, data mapping, APIs, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and administration.
  • Deep hands-on Kafka engineering and production ownership, including partitioning, replication, consumer groups, offsets, delivery semantics, tuning, Connect, schema compatibility, access controls, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing cross-cluster replication or mirroring and validating recovery procedures.
  • Ability to independently lead architecture decisions with little supervision, resolving ambiguous problems and balancing security, availability, scalability, recovery, and cost.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with integration or streaming workloads and working knowledge of IAM, networking, encryption, and security controls.
  • Strong scripting and automation capability using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a comparable language.
  • Experience establishing repeatable delivery pipelines, automated integration/API tests, performance tests, and release quality gates.
  • Experience defining actionable logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and service-level objectives.
  • Technical leadership across multiple large projects, including work allocation, reviews, mentoring, and standards.
  • Experience with capacity forecasting, cost-of-ownership analysis, and upgrade recommendations.
  • Experience with incident, change, and release management, using Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to collaborate across a globally distributed team and participate in a defined Tier-3 on-call rotation.

Desired Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in an IT-related field and 3+ years on Enterprise projects or programs are preferred.
  • Experience in modernization and partner integration (EDI/RosettaNet, B2B partner onboarding, managed file transfer, or migrations from TIBCO BWCE, TIBCO B2B, Oracle SOA, IBM Sterling MFT, or Informatica Cloud).
  • Experience in cloud platform and governance (AWS Glue Schema Registry, Amazon EKS/Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, AWS Well-Architected principles, modern authentication, Zero Trust patterns, API gateways such as Apigee, or Kafka governance tools such as Conduktor).
  • Experience in adjacent application and messaging engineering (Java/Spring Boot, Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink, Amazon MQ, RabbitMQ, or TIBCO EMS).
  • Experience in developer experience and AI enablement (reusable integration templates, self-service capabilities, developer portals, Boomi Agent Studio, agentic AI, or retrieval-augmented generation).
  • Relevant Boomi, AWS, Kubernetes, or Confluent certifications are helpful but not required.
