Alstom seeks a Human Factors/Ergonomics Engineer in Saint-Ouen, FR to ensure adherence to HF/ergonomics procedures and perform various assessments, including physical ergonomics with CATIA, interface display analysis, and human factors studies. The role involves contributing to Alstom's programs and projects by providing expertise in human factors and ergonomics, conducting risk analyses, evaluating workload, and specifying passenger needs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure application of internal procedures, instructions, and guidelines of the HF/ergonomics discipline.
- Perform Physical Ergonomics assessment with CATIA.
- Assess display interfaces and define design rules.
- Conduct Human factors studies: workload and risk identification and assessment.
- Calculate Anthropometrics data and seat dimensions.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret REX results.
- Contribute to R&D under the coordination of Expertise Network.
- Contribute to all Alstom programs & projects facing technical activities in Human factors/ergonomics related fields.
- Be responsible for expertise in the domain of human factors/ergonomics, recommendation for diagrams, design of cabin and cars, design of seat and footrest, maintenance of sub-systems.
- Be responsible for Human factors related risk analysis and workload evaluation.
- Be responsible for specification of passengers needs in the domain of services and Information.
- Be responsible for assessment of display’s screen.
- Be accountable for measurements done in Tympanic area (pressure wave).
- Be accountable for maintainability and cleanability.
- Be responsible for platform, pre-projects and projects, simulations for cab visibility, workplace accessibility and reachability.
- Write reports summarizing results before SGR and provide simulations that validate performance before PGR.
- Develop and promote the use of mock-up for the definition of cabin and cars layout.
- Contribute to define and deploy the process and tools to implement simulation and assessment.
- Contribute for the definition of Engineering instruction, guidelines and DRCL.
- Contribute to develop, deploy and promote the library of manikin, driver’s desk, seat and footrest.
- Be responsible of QCD of ergonomics/human factors activities.
- Be accountable for the engineering QCD.
- Contribute to develop relationship with Region and Platform to get REX about similar architecture and HF/ergonomics validation of simulated solution.
- Contribute for the development of relationship with University.
- Contribute to perform active technical watch.
- Be responsible to report on a regular basis the progress of the different activities.
- Be responsible to provide support and expertise ergonomics methodologies, assessment.
Requirements
- Human Factors / Ergonomics training (Mandatory).
- Ergonomics and Human factors skills: postural and cognitive analysis (Mandatory).
- Use of Simulation (Mandatory).
- Communication skills at least in English and if possible, in French.

- Catia v5, DMA, Human Builder, Human Posture Analysis (Desirable).
- Virtual reality (Desirable).
- Virtual reality tools (Desirable).
- Sherpa method (Desirable).
- Nasa-TLX (Desirable).
- Methodologies for ergonomics: tasks analysis (HTA), questionnaire definition, interview, synthesis, RULA, REBA.
- Workload analysis (NASA-TLX), Human error (Sherpa), Human reliability analysis (for example THERP, HEART, ..).
- Standard & regulation: TSI, UIC 651, 612, EN 16186, ISO 9241.
