Volvo Group is seeking a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in Bangalore to support the compliance manager in enhancing overall compliance levels and minimizing risk exposure. This role involves optimizing customs processes, managing trade agreements, and contributing to digital/automation development for improved efficiency within the Trucks Technology & Industrial Division.

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance manager to increase the overall Compliance level & minimize risk exposure
  • Support an adequate level of Compliance Control including broker management, internal control, post entry control etc.
  • Support compliance manager to increase efficiency, minimize import/export lead time & reduce import/export costs by optimizing usage of trading preferential agreements and duty relief program.
  • Initiate Continuous improvement activities, cross functional collaboration E2E, proposing process development, in order to optimize the Customs processes and procedures.
  • Support compliance manager to handle and mitigate existing and/or pending cases e.g. Customs duty drawback, Bank Guarantee, EPCG, Ted refund and other relevant schemes/ regimes including controversy and dispute cases.
  • Identify waste, eliminate waste, initiate digital /automation development to improve working efficiency.
  • Support custom training to internal stakeholders – make it online and more attractive
  • Customs and trade relevant Process setup and management
  • Customs Database Management
  • Take the interface between custom authorities and colleagues/partners on customs Audits
  • Work closely with other departments, external suppliers, forwarders, LSPs, Customs authorities and relevant authorities
  • Support Brokers evaluation and audit (Customs Broker Management)
  • Liaise with Customs Authorities (externally)/ Legal (internally) on compliance issue
  • Assist to develop inbound/outbound/packaging freight flows with focus on reducing customs related lead-times and costs, including provide information on availability as well as legal requirements in utilizing duty relief programs and procedures such as Free zone/Bonded Warehouse, Inward-/Outward Processing relief, VMI set up etc.
  • Provide customs and trade compliance trainings to Volvo colleagues and key stakeholder

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Customs, Laws, Economics, International Business or equivalent
  • Customs and Trade Compliance experience/knowledge is an advantage
  • Knowledge in logistic, supply chain and automotive industry is preferable
  • Good thinker than acting based on feelings.
  • Good potential for digitalization & automation development, self on job learning.
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Result - oriented
  • Self-motivated, take initiatives to change process and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision. Getting the work done
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Creativity/Innovation: Reframing traditional patterns of thinking and applying new and evolving ideas, methods, designs and technologies
  • High skills in building strong networks/relationships with other departments
