Sandvik Mining & Rock is looking for a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Supervisor in Romeoville, IL. This role manages FTZ operations, ensuring regulatory compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, leading audits, and driving process improvements. The position requires 5 years of trade compliance experience and a Bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
- Manage FTZ compliance program and CBP compliance.
- Lead audits, inventory controls, weekly entries, and oversight of various CBP filings.
- Drive FTZ process improvements and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Train FTZ personnel and stakeholders.
- Communicate with carriers to resolve issues promptly.
- Review and validate commercial shipping documents for accuracy.
- Support FTZ Import/Export processes according to internal procedures.
- Follow verification steps, including document and shipment checks.
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues.
- Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation.
- Respond quickly to operational needs and support daily shipment flow.
- Adapt to process changes, system updates, and new procedures.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Adhere to all Sandvik policies, SOPs, safety, and environmental practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- 5 years of experience in trade compliance, Supply Chain or FTZ program/operations.
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR).
- Knowledge of CBP ACE system.
- Knowledge of FTZ procedures.
- Strong understanding of HTS / ECCN classification.
- Strong understanding of customs entry processes.
- Strong understanding of inventory control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- U.S. Customs Broker License (Preferred).
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) (Preferred).
- FTZ Operator/Administrator training certificate (Preferred).
