Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company is seeking a Field Service Specialist for Turboexpanders to perform comprehensive field service activities, including inspections, maintenance, overhauls, and repairs. This remote role requires a high school diploma, at least 3 years of experience with turboexpanders or similar machinery, strong troubleshooting abilities, and extensive travel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, overhauls, and repairs on turboexpander packages.
  • Support startup, commissioning, and performance testing of turboexpander systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and operational challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical service reports documenting findings and recommendations.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, assembly procedures, technical manuals, P&IDs, and specifications.
  • Perform precision alignment, vibration analysis, and bearing inspections.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and project managers.
  • Maintain compliance with safety policies, customer requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to customer maintenance personnel.
  • Manage field service tools, equipment, parts inventory, and service records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; technical degrees or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience servicing turboexpanders, rotating equipment, turbines, compressors, or comparable industrial machinery.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and proven repair competencies.
  • Adept at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical instruction manuals, and maintenance procedure documents.
  • Hands-on experience with precision measurement instruments and alignment tools.
  • Proficiency in using computers and service reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Prepared to travel extensively within the United States and internationally, up to 75–100% of the time.
  • Capable of obtaining necessary site safety certifications and passing customer-mandated requirements, including DOT drug and alcohol testing.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with turboexpanders, rotating equipment, turbines, or compressors.
  • Experience with precision alignment and vibration analysis.
  • Familiarity with P&IDs.
