Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical aspects of surface mining equipment and components.
- New equipment commissioning and training at customer sites.
- Inspecting equipment for proper performance and determining faults/malfunctions.
- Adjusting equipment and repairing/replacing defective parts, components, or systems.
- Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
- Completing accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
- Staying current with industry, customers, product developments, and technical best practices.
- Complying with safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Performing risk assessments prior to each task.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work area.
Requirements
- Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- Relevant trade certification (Red Seal is considered an asset).
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with specific equipment (not specified) would be an asset.
- Common Core training is considered an asset.
- Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required.
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (red seal is considered an asset).
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with equipment would be an asset.
- Common Core training is considered an asset.
