ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Oman to perform service work with low to medium complexity on MV and LV switchgear and automation systems. Responsibilities
- Execute service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and ABB standard processes.
- Plan and execute work with a first-time right approach for customers.
- Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) with customers for MV and LV systems where possible.
- Receive project documentation and technical information for site testing and commissioning activities.
- Fill in project-related reports and agree on actions with the Service Manager or Operation.
- Accomplish preliminary activities like permissions, gate passes, power on/shutdown permits, and application program downloads.
- Verify hardware connections and functionality of installed devices.
- Provide feedback to the Engineering department for improvements.
- Solve hardware and functional incongruences during the site testing phase.
- Update system documentation with proper mark-ups and configuration updates.
- Obtain the SAT certificate from the Customer upon job completion.
- Collect all update documentation and complete the 'Log Project Book'.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Automation Engineering
- 3-8 years of experience in the specific field of application or similar fields (MV & LV complete product knowledge for site projects testing and commissioning)
- Knowledge of the most common testing tools (hardware and computerized)
- Knowledge of Safe working procedures at site
- English language knowledge
