Alfa Laval is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Dubai, UAE, for a full-time role focused on servicing equipment, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of separators, decanters, and heat exchangers. The position requires an engineering background with 5-8 years of experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake servicing of equipment on-site and at the service center according to Alfa Laval standards.
  • Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, audits, developing solutions, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance of high-speed separators, decanters, and plate heat exchangers.
  • Troubleshoot Electrical/PLC controls (EPC controls, 2 touch, basic & Plus controls).
  • Train customer crew on Alfa Laval equipment.
  • Execute audits and maintenance activities related to Service Agreements.
  • Explore business development opportunities and ensure fulfillment of service visits as per agreements.
  • Document all visits, observations, and commitments with the customer.
  • Resolve customer complaints promptly and communicate observed problems to managers.
  • Recommend timely purchasing of spares and servicing to customers.
  • Advise customers on service agreements.
  • Train customers or other Field Service Engineers on basic product features.
  • Enhance technical abilities and competencies with every service experience.
  • Perform troubleshooting, stripping, assessment, cleaning, repair, assembly, and testing of heat exchange components and rotating equipment (mechanical and electrical).
  • Support remote guidance service to customers.
  • Adhere to Quality & Safety (QHSE) Procedures.
  • Utilize AL system tools (OneService, Lead app, HSE Near miss app, E-Learning portal, Workday, Sensei IB).
  • Generate service business leads using the FSE Lead app.
  • Report Near Misses using the HSE digital platform.
  • Submit Service reports, Expense reports, payroll, and customer signed timesheets on time.
  • Participate in adhoc service transformation projects assigned by Service Management.
  • Support Sales functions in technical solutions and participate in technical forums.

Requirements

  • Engineering background (Mechanical/Electrical/Automation) with hands-on experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in rotating equipment, heat exchangers, decanters, high-speed separators, and associated equipment.
  • Good knowledge and practical skills in Microsoft Office packages and digital reporting.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills; ability to express verbal and written ideas effectively to all levels.
  • English language proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • Driving license required.

  • Process control instrumentation knowledge is an advantage.
  • Understanding of software programmes and industrial networking experience is an advantage.
