Amarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY, seeks a Fabricator responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling barrel components according to specifications. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, previous manufacturing experience is preferred, and the ability to read blueprints and operate fabrication equipment safely. The position is full-time, onsite in Mocksville, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, weld, and assemble barrel components according to engineering specifications.
- Review and interpret cut sheets, work orders, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Measure, mark, and cut barrel materials to required dimensions and tolerances.
- Weld nuts, springs, brackets, and other metal components to barrel assemblies.
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drill presses, welders, and grinders.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections using various measuring instruments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping and 5S requirements.
- Meet daily productivity, quality, and delivery expectations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret cut sheets, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Ability to understand dimensions, tolerances, symbols, and basic geometric requirements on drawings.
- Working knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and hand tools.
- Basic computer skills for production reporting and documentation.
- Strong mathematical skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and standard measurements.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing quality products.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift).
Desired Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining, or assembly experience preferred.
- Welding certification or demonstrated welding proficiency.
- Experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and quality inspection tools.
- Experience working in lean manufacturing environments and utilizing 5S principles.
