Sandvik is seeking a Dy. Manager for Installation, Erection & Commissioning to be based in Hyderabad, India. This role is responsible for overseeing the successful installation, erection, testing, and handover of crushing and screening plants at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project timelines. The position involves extensive project coordination, quality and safety management, documentation, and customer support.
Responsibilities
- Supervise installation and erection of crushing, screening, washing, conveying, and material handling equipment.
- Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and readiness checks.
- Execute no-load and load trials of plants.
- Commission electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, MCCs, instrumentation, and safety interlocks.
- Optimize plant performance to achieve design capacity, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and process-related issues.
- Ensure successful performance testing and plant handover to customers.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, procurement, vendors, and customers.
- Ensure availability of tools, manpower, and site resources.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
- Monitor work progress against project timelines and escalate risks proactively.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and customer safety regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Verify adherence to installation quality standards and commissioning procedures.
- Ensure all work permits and safety documentation are maintained.
- Prepare installation and commissioning reports.
- Maintain punch point lists and closure reports.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Prepare handover documents, equipment checklists, and customer acceptance certificates.
- Record lessons learned and provide feedback to engineering teams.
- Provide operator and maintenance staff training during project handover.
- Support customers during the plant stabilization period.
- Attend breakdowns and resolve technical issues during warranty periods.
- Build strong customer relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Experience in installation, erection, and commissioning of crushing and screening plants/equipment.
- Knowledge of OEM drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, motors, drives, PLCs, MCCs, instrumentation, and safety interlocks.
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting plant operations.
- Experience in project coordination and management.
- Knowledge of company HSE policies and safety regulations.
- Ability to conduct safety briefings and maintain work permits.
- Experience in preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Ability to provide training to operators and maintenance staff.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
