Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations at an assigned DEX Heavy Duty Parts site, managing supervisory staff and site operations.
  • Ensure products and processes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company, customer, and quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce health, safety, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and company requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and execute site remanufacturing, renovation, dismantling, and maintenance programs.
  • Manage production resources, processes, and quality systems to improve delivery precision, reliability, cost, cash flow, and efficiency.
  • Lead and report on site activities related to warehousing, scrap, inventory, overstock, and disposition programs.
  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Manage site budgets, operating costs, facility maintenance, waste reduction efforts, and cash flow.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, mentor, and develop site employees.
  • Prepare site-level reporting for DEX governance, business reviews, and corporate programs.
  • Support landfill-free and recycling initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, operations, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of plant, shop, or site management experience in automotive, heavy equipment, commercial trucking, manufacturing, remanufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, remanufacturing, component recovery, core management, production processes, and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles, capital equipment, dismantling, renovation, remanufacturing, aftermarket parts, salvage, and component refurbishment.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing principles, the Volvo Production System, or comparable production systems.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, delivery precision, cost management, cash flow, operational performance metrics, and shop-floor execution.
  • Ability to lead through visual management and a go-to-gemba leadership approach.
  • Strong professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership, motivational, organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience within operations, manufacturing, remanufacturing, or related industrial environments preferred.
  • 7+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience in heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, manufacturing, automotive, aftermarket parts, salvage, remanufacturing, or component renovation/refurbishing preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading plant operations, management teams, organizational development, and operational transformation at the site level.
  • Collaborate across local, regional, and global teams to support assigned site performance.
