AWS Infrastructure Services is hiring a Data Centre Operation Technician in India to maintain and operate its global cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include server rack installation, hardware and network troubleshooting, and responding to operational issues. This role involves on-call duties and working within a 24/7 shift rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
  • Server rack installation.
  • Hardware break-fix on various components.
  • Troubleshooting network issues.
  • Responding to emergent situations affecting operational stability.
  • Primary contact for internal customers and external service partners.
  • Meeting SLAs for assigned trouble tickets.
  • First line of touch for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Performing on-call duties.
  • Participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
  • Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and goal discussions.
  • Contributing to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives.
  • Assisting in training less experienced team members (for more experienced technicians).
  • Working 24/7 shift rotation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 18kg.
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
  • Experience operating efficiently under pressure.
