We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Telecom/IT operations, proficient in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Cassandra. This role involves supporting 24x7 production database infrastructure, focusing on daily checks, incident response, performance tuning, and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily BAU checks and health monitoring for database operations.
  • Provide database expertise during incidents and escalations as part of System Recovery Teams.
  • Develop, test, and deploy automated monitoring and alerting scripts.
  • Perform database performance tuning and SQL optimization on PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, and other platforms.
  • Troubleshoot production database issues, including standby/failover scenarios.
  • Design, code, test, and integrate custom database solutions and implementations.
  • Prepare technical documentation for custom implementations.
  • Own assigned tasks end-to-end, coordinating across teams.
  • Maintain adherence to SLA targets and incident management processes.
  • Support 24x7 operations with on-call rotations.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on DBA experience in Telecom or IT environments.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Cassandra, with a demonstrated ability to learn new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of production standby database concepts, failover mechanisms, and high-availability architectures.
  • Proven expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and SQL troubleshooting.
  • Solid grasp of common database operational issues and systematic troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience across SDLC phases including design, coding, testing, integration, and PL/SQL programming.
  • Commitment to operational excellence, process adherence, and customer-focused service delivery.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure: networks, servers, security systems, and client-server environments is advantageous.
