Job Description

We are seeking a Database Administration Intern to join our team on a part-time, on-site basis in Jurm, Badakhshan, Afghanistan. As a Database Administration Intern, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our organizational databases. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your database administration skills, work with industry-standard tools, and contribute to maintaining reliable and secure databases. Ideal candidates are passionate about data management and have a strong understanding of database systems.

Responsibilities

• Write and execute SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Monitor database health and performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Implement and test database backup and recovery strategies.
• Assist in database optimization efforts to improve performance and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Participate in data modeling and database design activities.
• Contribute to security management efforts to protect sensitive data.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of database concepts and principles.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Basic knowledge of database optimization techniques.
• Understanding of backup and recovery procedures.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Data Modeling principles.
• Familiarity with Performance Tuning.
• Understanding of Security Management.
