Responsibilities
- Build and develop robust ETL pipelines, creating accessible and well-structured datasets in a Data Lake.
- Ensure data pipelines are reliable, monitored, and automatically report issues.
- Enable programmatic access to data for Data Scientists and analytics teams.
- Optimise performance of business-critical pipelines, defining and tracking key metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate subject matter expertise into data solutions.
- Define requirements for data linkage and quality checks to enable automated pre-processing.
- Support best practices through participation in design discussions and code reviews.
- Communicate insights and findings clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Data Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines.
- Proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL and Python.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (ideally Microsoft Azure).
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as DataBricks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- A proactive and curious mindset, with a drive to continuously improve data solutions.
