Google is seeking a Data Center Technician III in Mumbai, India. This role involves installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting advanced server hardware and software, as well as managing network components like routers and switches. The position requires experience with operating systems, server hardware, networking protocols, and physical assembly or repair of technical equipment.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and repair advanced server hardware and server software.
Manage and set up complex network components, including routers, bridges, and switches.
Lead or contribute to local installation projects, create contingency plans, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Ensure mission goals and deployments are reliably executed and repeatable across Google's global data center network.
Manage equipment movement and installation to uphold data center quality and operational uptime.

Requirements

Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware and server hardware and experience with networking protocols.
Experience with assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, or performing component-level repairs and troubleshooting on technical equipment.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.
Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and ability to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
2 years of experience in troubleshooting hardware and network issues using Linux tools (e.g., LPIC-1, CCNA).
Proven experience in maintenance of server and storage systems.
Experience working within a data center or network operation center environment.
