Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware (servers, storage, networking devices) on a 24/7 basis.
- Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
- Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Share knowledge and help train less technical staff.
- Contribute to the Amazon hiring process by interviewing candidates.
- Install and configure Data Center Servers and Network systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, and replace internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices.
- Work within a ticket-based environment on systematic problem resolution.
- Work on a rotational shift-based schedule.
- Collaborate with internal teams on innovative projects to improve DC work environment and efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
