As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues on advanced hardware, maintaining high system reliability, and participating in projects to enhance operational efficiencies. This role requires hands-on work in a data center environment, including installation, configuration, and hardware replacement, with a focus on systematic problem resolution and collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware (servers, storage, networking devices) on a 24/7 basis.
  • Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
  • Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices.
  • Contribute to building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.
  • Perform installation and configurations on Data center Servers and Network systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and replace internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices.
  • Work within a ticket-based environment and work on systematic problem resolution.
  • Work on rotational shift-based schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and share ideas and contribute in innovative projects to improve DC work environment and overall efficiencies.
  • Work onsite in a physically active role.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
  • Experience operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).

  • Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
