Amazon Data Services Sweden AB is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician in Katrineholm to ensure the operational availability and reliability of mission-critical data center facilities. This role involves the maintenance and monitoring of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems, supporting both new and existing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and HVAC equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of all Data Center systems, including incident management and escalation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, voice/data, cooling, fire/life safety equipment, and generators.
  • Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers for proper operation and maintenance of facility equipment.
  • Deploy new equipment, including building racks and cabling.
  • Perform site walk-throughs to verify the proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.
  • Act as a Facilities First Responder to critical events.
  • Monitor alarms and systems for power, cooling, and fire suppression.
  • Plan and coordinate vendor works on-site.
  • Support other sites and teams during events and planned works.
  • Carry out rack power-up and installation duties.
  • Monitor and facilitate new equipment handover.
  • Support new hires and team members through knowledge share and development.
  • Participate in event response and drills.

Requirements

  • 1 to 4 years of electrical, mechanical and/or controls relevant experience (degree or trade qualification preferred).
  • Demonstrated key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory.
  • Ability to follow procedures and system documentation.
  • Track issues through a Trouble Ticket system.
  • Apply safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.
  • Maintain service level agreements (SLAs) through proactive issue detection and immediate response.
  • Competent in use of basic IT programs such as MS Word/Excel or similar.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Able to cover a 24x7 shift rotation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Heavy industry or data center experience.
  • Working knowledge of generic mechanical-room infrastructure such as chillers, Air Handling Units, and fan controls.
  • Working knowledge of backup generator systems.
