AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer in Hyderabad, India, to manage critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Manage all Data Center changes, events, incidents, and problems, including post-mortems and root cause analysis.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repairs for site-critical facility infrastructure.
- Oversee asset and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, including method statements, SOPs, and emergency response procedures.
- Manage engineering aspects related to financial control, regulatory compliance, and staff development.
- Handle health & safety, local statutory requirements, environmental, and energy management.
- Develop and deliver engineering reports, ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Communicate operating philosophies and technical information to stakeholders.
- Provide hands-on facility support for equipment installation, decommissioning, and replacement.
- Oversee technical compliance auditing and close out corrective action plans.
- Manage the development and delivery of energy/environmental management programs.
- Review incident reports, document trends, and provide recommended actions to management.
- Manage information flow and provide updates during incidents.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve incidents during emergency situations, potentially requiring on-site dispatch.
- Ensure 24x7 shift operations in a safe and secure manner without availability impact.
- Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
- Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and general facility management.
- Provide operational readings and KPIs to ensure uptime.
- Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Perform and oversee maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
Requirements
- High School or equivalent diploma
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, OR 2+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in an operational role
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience
- 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience (e.g., hospital, military facility, public safety facility)
- 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
- Technical writing skills and automation capabilities
- Ability to perform 24x7 on-call, scheduled weekend work, and rotational shifts.
